ChatGPT Work replaces ChatGPT agent and gets GPT-6.1 Terra
OpenAI's old ChatGPT agent is gone. Its replacement, ChatGPT Work, now runs GPT-6.1 Terra, a faster model built to use a computer for you.
On 2026-10-26 OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Terra, a model built to operate a computer for you, for example to fill in forms. Plus, Pro, Enterprise and Edu users get it in ChatGPT Work. OpenAI says the same plan now covers more tasks than before, and that Terra finished its test tasks over three times faster than GPT-6.1 Sol. OpenAI's help page now says ChatGPT agent is no longer available and sends people to ChatGPT Work. The Atlas browser already closed on 2026-08-09.
If you used ChatGPT agent or Atlas, your errands move to ChatGPT Work. On paid plans it has its own browser in the cloud, so a task keeps running after you close your laptop. Free and Go plans do not get that cloud browser.
ChatGPT Work is our best value pick in AI agents, and Claude in Chrome stays our best overall pick.
