Perplexity Computer can now run entirely on a Mac
Perplexity's computer agent can now plan and work on your files without leaving your Mac, if you pay for Pro, Max or Enterprise.
On 20 October 2026 Perplexity said its Computer agent can run fully on Macs with Apple silicon. The model, the planning and the work on your files all stay on the machine. It can use Notes, Messages, Mail and Numbers if you allow it. You can also pick a hybrid mode that starts in the cloud, or let a local task reach the cloud for fresh web results.
It needs the Perplexity Mac app and a Pro, Max or Enterprise plan. Perplexity recommends 36 GB of memory or more. It ships with two local models, Qwen 3.6 and PPLX Pro.
