Gemini 4 Argon arrives for paying Gemini users
Google's new Gemini 4 Argon model is in the Gemini app for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, with clearer answers and better coding.
Google put Gemini 4 Argon in the Gemini app on 13 October 2026 for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Google says it answers more directly, hedges and repeats itself less, and reports its progress more often on long jobs. A new switch in the chat window turns a chat into a task that keeps running while you are away. The Mac app also gets Google's Antigravity coding screen.
Free users do not get Argon. If you pay for AI Pro at $19.99 a month, the upgrade is already in your app.
We kept our picks. Gemini remains our best value chatbot, and ChatGPT stays the best overall in AI chat.
